As far as snazzy advertising goes, Nike had stolen our geeky hearts with their laser engineered ads in Paris. Now Ford has a new gimmick up their sleeves which has stolen our hearts as far as gadgetry goodness goes.
This product is designed to exchange basic information with new people in the first meeting by shaking hands. The most essential part of a nomadic life is frequent travel, and nowadays, people are traveling more often and more easily. Increasing opportunities to travel indicate increasing opportunities of meeting new people, and expanding your social network.
Michiel van der Kley, has been producing designs since 1987. His latest design, Globus shows van der Kley's creativity and imagination. Globus is a multi-functional mobile office with a twist, or sphere more like it. Closed, Globus will attract the most curious of spectators, and open, it reveals its' real, creative function. Half of Globus is a comfortable swivel, seat, while the other half is a usable, adjustable table which can be used for a laptop or whatever the need may be. With hidden wheels to make Globus mobile, once opened up, the wheels are locked into place. Globus is available in a variety of shades and colors.
Okay, so the personal jetpack is pretty cool, but I think the personal jet wing is even cooler. Although it can't (yet) launch you into the air, the four rocket engines (not sure if they're rockets or jet turbines) bolted onto the carbon graphite wing provide enough thrust to propel the pilot horizontally for 4-6 minutes at 115 mph, at around 8000 ft (after you've jumped out of an airplane first). Landings are accomplished via parachute. Yeah, so maybe it's not quite as practical or versatile as the personal jetpack, but doesn't it look badass, especially with the folding wingtips? Despite how much you wish your work day was a never-ending dream, face the facts — it's not. This is your life and I'm sorry to say that it is real, very real. This Whirled Clock may not be able to enhance your life, but it can give the impression that it is simply a dream.
