for those living on the streets of an urban city in the northern hemisphere, winter can be a harsh and even deadly
situation. in an effort to help make this experience better, toronto-based ad agency taxi, recently launched a
project where they would design, manufacture and distribute 3,000 winter coats to homeless people in 5 north
american cities. the project is named '15 below' in reference to the temperature that a cold weather alert is issued.
the project is a collaboration with the ad agency and designer lida baday, who designed the apparel for a wide
range of weather climates. of note, the jacket can be stuffed with newspaper to insulate it for temperatures of
-29 degrees celsius. the apparel will be distributed early in 2008.
